Rosie Lee's hat is trimmed with roses. The wide brim
provides a place for birds to drink and bathe and, depending on the
flow, Rosie's sun hat creates a veil of falling water to give her shade
through the hot summer days.
Like Gladys, Rosie's
hat is set at a slightly jaunty angle. Gently sloping forward, the water
flows from a copper pipe emerging from the centre of a single rose.
The shape of the hat makes her ideal for a circular pond or water feature,
or as a striking and heart-warming sculpture in her own right, cast
without the integral copper pipe.
HOW IS ROSIE CAST?
Rosie Lee has a thread in the bottom of each leg so
she can be fixed to a stone base or plinth. She is cast in bronze resin
and can be finished with either a polished bronze or verdigris patina,
LilyÕs choice for this figure.
