Watching The Time Slip Away

SOLD

Height: 22cm

As a bit of a magpie and a careless gardener I find old gardening tools and dig up strange bits of wire as I’m digging in the dirt. These found objects metamorphosis and the weathered fork figure sits comfortably on the oroko wood from our cottage window frames, her arms form from the verdigris coiled wire and from my sewing box her bead necklace.
Like Calder sculptures I sprayed primary colours on the surfaces of the wood block with the echoes of Otis Redding singing ‘watching the tide roll away’.
